PROVO, Utah — No. 46 BYU women’s tennis continues Big 12 play Saturday with an in-state rivalry matchup against No. 51 Utah at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center in Salt Lake City.
The Cougars enter the contest ranked No. 46 in this week’s ITA Division I team rankings with an 11–3 overall record, while the Utes sit at No. 51 nationally.
Saturday’s meeting marks BYU’s third consecutive conference road match and presents an opportunity for a ranked Big 12 victory as league play continues.
BYU opened the spring season with wins in 11 of its first 12 matches, including victories over Washington State, Denver, Memphis and Boise State. The Cougars recently began Big 12 competition with road matches at UCF and Houston and look to bounce back as conference play continues this weekend.
The Cougars have demonstrated depth throughout the lineup this season, earning decisive wins in singles play while frequently securing early momentum through doubles competition.
Utah enters Saturday with a 6–5 overall record and an 0–2 mark in Big 12 play. After opening the season with five-straight home victories, the Utes return to Salt Lake City following four consecutive losses, including conference defeats at Houston and UCF last week.
Despite recent results, Utah remains undefeated at home this spring with a 5–0 record at the Eccles Tennis Center.
Separated by just five spots in the ITA rankings, Saturday’s matchup carries both rivalry and conference significance. Ranked wins remain critical as teams position themselves for movement in the ITA standings and NCAA tournament consideration later this season.
First serve between BYU and Utah is scheduled for 12 p.m. MT on Saturday in Salt Lake City.
