NORMAN, Okla. — BYU men’s golf was placed No. 23 in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches Poll on Friday.

The Cougars have appeared in the 23rd spot in back-to-back rankings, this time with 94 votes and 14 more than the previous poll on March 27th. This marked BYU’s sixth time in the top-25 out seven total releases of the poll this season. No. 12 was the highest rank the Cougars have received, which was done in the Oct. 10th poll. 

Since the last updated ranking, BYU finished fourth at The Goodwin then tied for third at the 79th Western Intercollegiate. Kihei Akina, the top Cougar in each event, secured runner-up then fifth place in those tournaments to move himself to No. 7 on Scoreboard player rankings. 

Oklahoma State (6), Texas Tech (8), Arizona State (9) and Arizona (21) were the four other Big 12 programs to make the top-25. Utah received seven votes for the poll.
