PROVO, Utah — No. 23 Arizona State turned the tables on BYU Friday night, using a big second inning and a late surge for a 13-0 series-tying win in seven innings at Miller Park.

Summary
Justis Reiser came out sharp for the Cougars with a 1-2-3 firstinning, and Luke Anderson followed with a leadoff knock in the bottom of the frame, but BYU couldn’t cash in early.
Everything shifted in the second. With two outs, ASU strung together a rally that quickly turned into five runs and a 5-0 lead behind a two-run homer and a two-run double.
BYU threatened in the third as Keoni Painter singled with one out and worked his way to third, but the Cougars left him stranded.
The Sun Devils kept their foot on the gas, adding one in the fifth to make it 6-0 and two more in the sixth to stretch the lead to 8-0.
Goff delivered a spark with a one-out double off the left-field wall in the sixth, but back-to-back srtrikeouts ended the threat.
ASU put the game out of reach in the seventh, adding on five runs to extend the lead to 13-0 and seal the win. BYU finished with three hits on the night and was held scoreless.
