AZUSA, Calif. – Carmen Alder clocked a 4:07.29 in the 1500-meter elite section to finish second and set the No. 2 mark in BYU history Saturday night.
After sitting No. 4 on the program’s 1500m list with her previous record of 4:08.56, Alder trimmed more than a second to rise to the No. 2 spot in program history. Alder closed with a final split of 1:05.31. Carlee Hansen-Thompson also competed in the elite section, crossing in 4:09.13 to place sixth.
Tessa Buswell and Zariel Macchia led the Cougars in the 1500m invite, taking 11th and 13th, respectively. Macchia’s 4:15.82 was a new personal best.
