PROVO, Utah — BYU softball kicks off a nine-game homestand this week, hosting a Tuesday midweek contest against Utah Valley.
The Cougars (11-25, 2-10 Big 12) and Wolverines will meet at Gail Miller Field at 6 p.m. MT.

BYU went 0-3 in Big 12 play last week, being swept at No. 2 Texas Tech by a combined score of 33-6 across a trio of run-rule defeats.
The Cougars plated a run apiece in games one and two, and scored four in game three on Saturday, but dropped all three contests by eight or more runs.
Maddie Udall-Woolley, who homered in game three against the Red Raiders, led the team with a .667 batting average, while Tristen Turlington hit .500. Lily Owens and Hailey Shuler both batted .250, each turning in a double, with Owens opening the scoring in game three on a solo home run of her own.
Danica Acosta (.330), Shuler (.313), Hailey Morrow (.303) and Lily Owens (.299) pace BYU offensively for the season, combining for 53.2 percent of the team's hits and 42.4 percent of the its RBI.
In the circle, Shuler has a 7.11 ERA with five wins and 32 strikeouts, while Gianna Mares and Jada Villegas both post 8.03 marks. The pair of southpaws have tossed 75 and 49.2 innings, respectively, with 71 and 26 strikeouts on the year.
Heading into the week, the Cougars rank No. 43 in double plays per game (0.44) and No. 44 in total double plays (16), both of which are good for No. 5 in the Big 12.
Individually, Villegas' three saves are 19th nationally and second in the Conference. Ilove'a Brittingham's six runners caught stealing also rank No. 2 in the league.
Facing Utah Valley for the second time in the last two weeks, BYU gets set to welcome the Wolverines to Provo for the 28th time in series history.
