MONTRÉAL — BYU women’s basketball guard Delaney Gibb has been selected to participate in the Canadian Senior National Team training camp in Montréal, Quebec, from June 20-28, ahead of the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament in August.

Gibb is one of nine active NCAA Division I players invited to the senior national team camp this week. The other nine invitees currently compete in professional leagues across France, Germany and Italy, or in the EuroLeague.

Following the camp in Montréal, the team will transition to a second training session that includes an exhibition game against the reigning NCAA national champion, UCLA, on July 22 in Victoria, British Columbia.

After the final roster is announced later this summer, Canada will travel to Guadalajara, Mexico, for the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament from Aug. 17-23. The tournament marks the first step in Team Canada’s quest to qualify for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, with the winner earning an automatic bid to the FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournaments in March 2028.

Canada enters the summer ranked seventh in the FIBA World Ranking Women, presented by Nike.

Gibb made her senior national team debut last summer at the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, helping Canada secure a bronze medal. The rising junior appeared in all seven games, averaging 9.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists en route to a 6-1 record.

In the bronze-medal game, the Raymond, Alberta, native went 3-for-8 from the field and 2-of-4 from 3-point range, adding five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block. She also recorded the game-winning assist in double overtime to lift Canada to a 76-75 victory over Argentina.
