- Won the 1987 Seiko Tucson Open and the 1988 NEC World Series of Golf
- On the Senior PGA Tour, won two senior majors - the 2005 Senior PGA Championship and the 2009 Tradition

- Came in second in the Pensacola Open in 1978
- Tied for third in two PGA tournaments in 1983
- Teamed with Bob Goalby to win the Shootout at Jeremy Ranch
- Tied for first in the Southwestern Classic
- Came in second at the B.C. Open
- Inducted into the BYU Hall of Fame in 1985
