- Played first two years at Fresno City College where he played No. 1 in both singles and doubles
- Two-time All-conference in singles and doubles
- Two-time singles and doubles junior college All-American
- Advanced to semifinals of the 2001 ITA JC National Championships
- Ranked No. 1 in Northern California Junior Colleges in 2001 and 2002
