Track and Field/Cross Country Experience
- Part of the staff of BYU men's cross country's 2019 national championship, the first title in program history
- Part of the staff of BYU women's cross country's 2019 national runner-up finish, the best team finish since 2003
- While at BYU, worked as the team manager; played a role in recruiting several top-placing athletes
- Was part of the staff when BYU placed fourth and sixth at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in 2011 and 2012
- While at FSU, worked as a track and field/XC graduate assistant, participating in recruiting, opponent scouting reports and organization of team events
- FSU finished eighth at NCAA Nationals while Wood was a part of the staff
- Worked for Flotrack as a senior analyst and live stream commentator, heading up research and ranking the top NCAA Cross Country teams
- Produced content and wrote material about high school, collegiate and professional runners, teams and competitive events
Coaching Experience
- Hired as the track and field and cross country assistant coach at Weber State University in 2014
- Led the Weber State women's cross country team to a 22nd-place finish at the 2015 NCAA Cross Country Championships
- Helped coach first-team All-American Mike Hardy to a fifth-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor T&F Championships
- Assisted in coaching second-team All-American Jamie Stokes to a 16th-place finish at the 2016 NCAA Indoor T&F Championships
Personal
- Wood married Elise Fassmann in June 2014
- Father Bob was a prominent figure in track and field as an agent and was a part of USA Track and Field
- Brother Sam has won back-to-back Utah state track and field titles as the head coach at Woods Cross High
