Years at BYU
2007-2012
Bob Shober spent three years with the BYU softball team as a Volunteer Assistant Coach in 2007, 2010 and 2012. In the summer of 2010, Shober worked with the USA National and USA Futures National teams, helping the USA National team win the Women's World Championship in Venezuela and the 2010 World Cup of Softball held in Oklahoma City.
During his three years (2007, 2010, 2012) at BYU, Shober has aided the Cougars in winning two Mountain West Conference championships, one Western Athletic Conference championship and three NCAA tournament appearances, including BYU's first-ever Super Regional appearance in 2010.
Shober brings winning experience to the Cougars coaching softball at Taylorsville High for the past six years and winning regional championships each of those six seasons. Shober has also coached girls fastpitch softball since 1993. Shober has also coached on the club circuit, including the Utah Lady Warriors, the Utah Shockers, the Utah Firebirds, and the Utah Magic. Since 1993, Shober has additionally coached boys' baseball in all of the Taylorsville youth organizations.
Shober has been with the West Jordan Police Department for 30 years and is a SWAT Commander working as the Graveyard Field Commander after working toward his bachelor's degree at the FBI National Academy.
Originally from Granger, Utah, Shober resides in Taylorsville with his wife, Linda, daughter Breanne and son, Nick.
