Years at BYU
2005-2008
Brent Aldridge was hired in May 2005 as an assistant coach for the BYU women's volleyball program.
Responsibilities
Aldridge's primary responsibilities at BYU include serving as the team's defensive coordinator and video coordinator.
Coaching Career
In his two seasons on the BYU bench, Aldridge has helped the Cougars to a 50-10 (.833) overall record, including the 2005 Mountain West Conference regular-season title and back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.
Aldridge came to BYU with 12 years of volleyball coaching experience at the college, high school and club levels, including three seasons as a head coach.
While an assistant at the University of New Mexico from 2002-04, he coordinated the Lobos' recruiting, scouting and defense. The Lobos set the school's single-season block assist record under Aldridge's tutelage as defensive coordinator in 2002.
Prior to joining the Lobo volleyball program, Aldridge was the defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator at Northern Arizona University. While at NAU, Aldridge was credited with introducing the "swing block" technique, helping the Lumberjacks improve their blocking average to 2.70 per game, up from a previous 2.38 per-game average. The block totals were the program's highest in 10 years.
From 1999-2000, Aldridge was the head coach at Saint Mary's College in Leavenworth, Kan., an NAIA Division II program. He administered all phases of the volleyball program, which he built from scratch. Additional collegiate coaching experience includes serving as an assistant at his alma mater, South Dakota, where he played a prominent role in recruiting, academics and the volleyball booster club from 1994-95.
At the high school level, Aldridge was the head volleyball coach at Valley High School in Nebraska and an assistant at Harris-Lake Park High School in Iowa. He also has extensive experience working at high school and club camps, having served as instructor or director at 13 volleyball camps in the Great Plains, including South Dakota, Kansas State, Nebraska-Omaha, Pittsburg State (Kan.), New Mexico and BYU.

A native of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Aldridge graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in education. He and his wife, Mary, have two children, a daughter and a son.
