Responsibilities
Huebner works with the middles as well as serving as the team's recruiting coordinator and marketing liaison.
Coaching Career
In her three seasons as an assistant coach at BYU, Huebner has helped the Cougars achieve a 70-21 (.769) record, including the 2005 Mountain West Conference regular-season title and back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances. Under Huebner's guidance, middle blocker Lindsy Hartsock received numerous accolades, including 2004 Blocker of the Year, 2005 MWC Player of the Year and 2005 AVCA Honorable Mention All-America honors. BYU ranked fifth in the nation in blocking in 2004.
A native of Moapa, Nev., Huebner came to BYU from UVSC where she was an assistant coach from 1999 to 2002 under former BYU men's volleyball player Sam Atoa. In that time, she helped the Wolverines to a 138-31 record, highlighted by a third-place NJCAA finish in 2000.
Huebner also spent one year as the head coach of the freshman team at Presentation High School in Willow Glen, Calif., four years coaching with City Beach, a girls volleyball club in Santa Clara, Calif., one year coaching the Salty Sport volleyball club and two years coaching locally with the Players Volleyball Club.
Playing Career
As a player, Huebner began her collegiate career at UVSC. A two-year starter at middle blocker in 1993 and 1994, Huebner posted the best hitting percentage (.298) in the Southern League her sophomore year while earning All-Region 18 honors.
After completing her junior college stint, Huebner transferred to San Jose State University to finish her eligibility where she averaged a .303 hitting percentage, which ranks third all-time at SJSU. She broke an 11-year SJSU single-season hitting percentage record her senior year with a .347 mark and held the record for two years until it was broken. She still holds the second-best single-season hitting percentage by a Spartan and is also tied for second all-time in service aces per game (0.55, 1995) and is fourth all-time in service aces (56, 1995). Huebner missed just one match in her two-year career, averaging 2.19 kills per game, 1.63 digs per game and 0.79 blocks per game.
A three-year letterwinner and two-time all-state player at Moapa Valley High School, Huebner earned Player of the Year honors in her junior and senior seasons after leading her team to the Nevada state title both years. In addition to a stellar high school volleyball career, Huebner earned high school letters in basketball and track and field. She was all-league in basketball her junior and senior seasons and the state runner-up in high jump as a senior.
Personal
Huebner graduated from San Jose State University in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and a minor in nutrition and food science. She also received her master's degree in sport pedagogy from BYU in 2004. She married Troy Huebner in the spring of 1999, and they have one daughter.
