Years at BYU
2007-2013
Ianeta Le'i was with BYU as an assistant coach for seven seasons. Prior to joining the coaching staff, Lei worked as a graduate assistant after playing at BYU four seasons. Her responsibilities include assisting with on-field development, recruiting and game management.
Le'i, who is originally from Oahu, Hawai`i, is an All-American and one of BYU's greatest players, playing from 2003-06. She left her mark on BYU softball as a two-time All-American, four-time All-Mountain West Conference selection and a two-time MWC Player of the Year. Le'i claimed the MWC Triple Crown her senior season with a .541 batting average, 11 home runs and 38 RBI. She also set BYU's single season records for at bats (206), hits (85) and RBI (82) during the same 2006 season.
Her 82 RBI in a season is still tied for 17th-most in NCAA history and gave her a share of the NCAA RBI per game crown in 2006. Le'i currently ranks among the top BYU hitters in most statistical categories.
