Responsibilities
Has been a full-time law professor at BYU since 1995 in addition to serving as a Faculty Athletic Representative since May 2004. Represents BYU on the MWC Joint Council, along with Athletic Director and Senior Women's Administrator. As a Faculty Athletic Representative, EchoHawk serves as chairman of BYU's Athletic Compliance Committee and serves as an ex-officio member of the University Athletic Advisory Council.
Education
Graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Physical Education from BYU in 1970. EchoHawk went on to obtain a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Utah in 1973.

1995-2009
Prior to BYU
In 1982 EchoHawk won a seat in the Idaho State House of Representatives from Bannock County. Four years later he was elected Bannock County prosecuting attorney. In 1990 EchoHawk was elected Attorney General of Idaho, where he served until 1995.
Career Highlights
Member of varsity football team at BYU from 1967-69, playing in every game during his career. Started at safety as a junior and senior, leading the team and ranking fourth in the Western Athletic Conference with five interceptions as a junior in 1968. Added 18 solo tackles, 29 assisted tackles and 14 pass deflections as a junior, and 25 solo tackles, 29 assisted tackles and nine pass deflections as a senior. Earned Academic All-WAC First Team honors as a senior.
The first-ever and one of just four BYU recipients of the prestigious NCAA Silver Anniversary Award, an honor that recognizes former student-athletes who successfully completed collegiate careers in various sports and have excelled in their chosen professions. The Silver Anniversary Award acknowledges the former student-athletes on their 25th anniversary of completing their athletics eligibility. EccoHawk recieved the honor in 1995. Other former BYU student-athletes to be honored include Gifford Nielsen (football) in 2003, Danny Ainge (basketball) in 2006 and Steve Young (football) in 2009.
