Playing Career
Battistone, a native of Santa Barbara, Calif., grew up playing tennis, and after graduating high school in 1995 played one year at Boise State University. He then took a year off in order to concentrate solely on tennis and train full time. In 1997 he returned to school, playing one season for BYU.
In May 1997, Battistone made the decision to join the pro tour, where he participated in ITF and ATP events from May 1997-July 2000. While competing in the professional ranks he spent a considerable amount of time living in Europe where he played in more than 15 countries. Battistone reached a No. 70 national ranking in doubles with his brother and doubles partner Brian Battistone, who now works as BYU?s team manager.
Personal/Family
Battistone is currently working on a master?s degree in accounting at BYU, although he still dreams of taking another shot at the pro tour. He is married to the former Angie Eddington and the two reside in Provo, Utah, with their 1-year-old son, Samuel.
