Completed his master's in education from Regis University in December, 2007. Received his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from the University of Southern Colorado 1999 and a minor in coaching from USC in 1999. Received AA degree from Cerro Coso Community College in 1995.
Paul Bassett is in his second year at BYU as a volunteer coach. He was an assistant coach for Cerro Coso Community College in Ridgecrest, Calif. He graduated from Eldorado High School in Las Vegas, Nev. and coached at Durango High School for six seasons. Paul began his collegiate career at Cerro Coso as a first baseman/catcher in 1993 (team captain, too) and MVP in 1994. As a sophomore he helped lead the Coyotes to a second place finish in the Southern California Athletic Conference. Hitting a .435/.510 batting average, Paul was named to the all-conference first team. After graduating with his AA, Paul transferred to the University of Southern Colorado where he batted .330 as a senior.
