McKinzie Young will begin her ninth season as a volunteer assistant in 2020. Young has coached two of the top four keepers in goals against average in BYU history in Erica Owens and Katherine Snyder, both of whom trail Young for the career lead.
Young played in 85 games over four seasons for BYU totaling more than 7,500 minutes in goal and holding opponents to 0.53 goals per game. She is the all-time saves leader at BYU with 280. She recorded 36 shutouts and won 49 games including two NCAA tournament victories during her playing career. Young played her high school soccer at Brighton High School and her club soccer for the Utah Avalanche.
Young graduated from BYU with a degree in medical laboratory science in 2013 and currently works as the Laboratory Supervisor at the Revere Health Provo Campus.
