PROVO, Utah — BYU Associate Athletic Director of Development Chad Lewis today announced the hiring of Isaac Wood as the new Athletics Development Coordinator. He takes over for Greg Vehar, who was recently named the new Cougar Club Director.

“Isaac has a deep love for BYU and an optimism for the mission of the Athletics Department that is contagious,” said Lewis. “I am eager for our fans and donors to get to know him and feel the excitement and passion he has for us to be great.”

Originally from North Salt Lake City, Wood attended BYU where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history in 2013. He joined the BYU athletic department staff in 2016 as the track and field operations coordinator. In 2018 he was promoted to Director of Operations for track and field and cross country. In that role, Wood oversaw recruiting, meet management, team travel, scholarships and roster management, team functions and a variety of other day-to-day responsibilities for the men’s and women’s programs.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join the development team and the Cougar Club to work with Chad Lewis and Greg Vehar,” said Wood. “My passion for BYU Athletics runs deep and I am thrilled for the opportunity to help grow the Cougar Club, improve the experience of our donors and membership and to bring a fresh set of ideas and skillset to the table. I will certainly miss my role with the track and field and cross country teams and am very grateful to Ed Eyestone for the experience I gained while working under him and the other coaches. I’m confident the things I learned from my time there will directly translate into real tangible differences in the Cougar Club.”

In his new responsibilities, Wood will help manage the services for the nearly 5,000 members of the Cougar Club, including football and basketball season ticket renewals for club members. He will also be involved in soliciting and facilitating donations, setting up scholarship endowments and planning and carrying out numerous events each year.

Prior to joining the BYU Athletics Department, Wood was an Assistant Track and Field Coach at Weber State University from 2014-16. Before that he worked as a Senior Analyst and Associate Producer for FloTrack, a branch of FloSports. Wood served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California Sacramento Mission, Cambodian speaking from 2008-10. He is married to Elise Fassmann. The couple has one son.
