PROVO, Utah — BYU baseball hits the road this week for four games in California. The Cougars are back in action on Tuesday, May 3 at 6 p.m. PDT versus Cal State Fullerton at Goodwin Field, in Fullerton.

BROADCAST INFO. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ as well as the BYU Radio Network —107.9 FM, BYU Radio App, BYU Cougars app and BYUCougars.com.

SERIES HISTORY. The Tuesday contest will be the 16th meeting between BYU and Cal State Fullerton in baseball. The Cougars are 7-8 all-time versus the Titians and 3-4 at Fullerton. The last meeting between the two schools was a neutral site game at Stanford on June 1, 2017 in the NCAA Regions, where the No. 17 ranked Titians defeated the Cougars 13-2.

CSUF SEASON REVIEW. Fullerton enters Thursday’s game with a record of 17-24 (.415) and 10-8 (.500) in Big West play. The Titians are 6-4 in their last 10 games, including a 1-2 series loss at Hawaii over the weekend and a non-conference victory over San Diego 8-7 in a midweek game.

COUGAR RECAP. BYU is 22-16 (.579) on the year and 7-8 in WCC action. The Cougars are 5-5 in their last 10 games and 2-2 last week, including a 7-0 shutout of Utah Valley at Miller Park in the midweek game and a 1-2 series record at San Francisco in the weekend series. 

ON THE HILL. Taking the mound for the Cougars versus the Titians is Ayden Callahan. The senior right-hander has appeared in eight games, striking out 11 in 10 innings of work while holding opposing batters to a .189 average.

WCC WEEKEND SERIES. Following the Tuesday night game at Fullerton, BYU will resume WCC play with a three-game series at Pepperdine on May 5-7 at Eddy D. Field Stadium in Malibu, California. The Thursday and Friday games are scheduled for 3 p.m. PDT, with Saturday’s contest at 1 p.m. PDT.
