Postgame quotes

BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall
"I was really impressed with Adam Hine and Algernon Brown and so what we really take away from this is the ability to possibly have those two guys play a little bit more to dispel Jamaal. They added another physical presence and showed that they were capable and trustworthy.”

"We have so much confidence in Jamaal that it's hard to take the ball out of his hands but what this shows is sometimes, especially late in the year, when he's getting the ball, maybe there's a couple more carries for a few other guys."

Looking to Notre Dame
"I would like it to end up being a rivalry that will happen once we do our part of winning enough games. I felt a year ago that we had a great opportunity to win. I look forward to a hard fought game year in and year out and I'd like to play them as much as possible. I think the rivalry makes a lot of sense where the game makes a lot of sense. There's a lot of intrigue for college football and I would love to play them on a yearly basis if possible."

"Manoa Pikula, his status, his place on our team just keeps going up and so I really like what he's doing. We have a young safety Kai Nacua that is starting to emerge a little bit and we might be able to have a little more depth at corner from him.”

Eathyn Manumaleuna
On senior day
“It's been a great ride playing in this stadium. We made great memories and great relationships.”

“As far as the defensive line, we were expecting more pressure and more sacks, but other than that, we played well.”

“These next two weeks are going to be crucial for us. We have to stay focused and prepare ourselves even better for next week against Notre Dame.”

Cody Hoffman
On last home game
“It's been surreal with everything that I have overcome and accomplished in my career. It's bittersweet. It hasn’t really set in yet.”

On 2012 Notre Dame game
“It’s stuck with us because we easily could have won--seeing them in the national championship, knowing that we could have and should have beat them, it will be nice to go back this year and hopefully get revenge.”

Kyle Van Noy
On Coach Mendenhall
“I think he’s a good guy. He gets us ready to play every week and he gets us to give all we can. He makes us realize that we’re not just playing football, but that we’re playing football for a reason.”

On 2012 Notre Dame game
“We should have come out with a win I think we’re going in to face a team that’s healed from a bye week. They’re going to be ready to go. I think also we’re hungry too. We’re hungry for success and that’s going to show. It’s going to be a good game. It’s going to be competitive. It’s going to be Midwest team football.”

Idaho State head coach Mike Kramer

On playing BYU two years after a 56-3 defeat
"We've made progress. We're a little better than we were two years ago when we played down here."

On the offensive play
"At wide receiver we didn't play well. I think we had one catch or two catches at wide receiver at halftime and that's not a pass catching offense. Offensively, I thought we ran the ball well at times. We got down there close and couldn't convert and couldn't get a touchdown and gave them a lot of opportunities."

On moving forward next week
"For us it's a matter of making a rebound. We play a rivalry game against a team we haven't had any success with for a long period of time and right now all of our attention is on winning a game in Utah (against Weber State) next week."

On playing at BYU
"It's the marquis program in the mountain west. This is a fun place to play. It's the toughest place to have success and it's just a stylish group of coaches, players and fans. I love coming here and would love to play here all the time."
