PROVO, Utah — BYU football will conduct its annual public spring scrimmage on Saturday, April 7 at 11 a.m. MDT in LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Free to the public, gates open at 10 a.m. and the first 5,000 fans arriving at the stadium will receive a free BYU football poster. The spring scrimmage is the final of 15 practice sessions the team conducts during spring drills in advance of fall camp in August.

Fans attending will get a glimpse at this year’s team and the preparations made during spring practices by the players and coaches, including the offensive attack under new offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes and his staff. The scrimmage will include warmup and individual drills, 7-on-7 work and 11-on-11 scrimmage sessions.

This year the spring scrimmage also coincides with the annual BYU Football Alumni Day. Former Cougar players will be on hand to watch the scrimmage as part of their alumni day activities with the program.

The annual radio broadcast of the spring scrimmage can be heard on the Nu Skin BYU Sports Network with the Voice of the Cougars Greg Wrubell being joined by analyst Marc Lyons and sideline reporter Jason Shepherd. The broadcast begins at 10 a.m. MDT and can be heard on BYU Radio/Sirius XM 143 and KSL Newsradio 102.7FM/1160 AM as well as online at BYUCougars.com, BYURadio.org and KSL.com and via the BYU Radio and BYUCougars apps. With the implementation of a new offense this year, a strategic decision was made to not televise the scrimmage.
