PLAYER NOTES
Jaren Hall
Jaren Hall started his first game at quarterback, becoming the 10th redshirt or true freshman to start a game at quarterback at BYU since Ty Detmer was the first in the modern era in 1988 and just the third to start on the road (Drew Miller at UTEP 1997, Joe Critchlow at UNLV).

Hall finished the game 15 for 23 with 148 yards and one touchdown. He added 16 carries for 83 yards and another score. He joined teammate Zach Wilson in throwing a touchdown pass and running for another in his first career start. Wilson had three touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown against Hawaii in 2018.

Matt Bushman
Bushman had five receptions for 44 yards. He went over 100 career receptions (101), becoming the 35th Cougar to do so, and eight tight end at BYU. He also went over 1,300 receiving yards (1,328) making him the 37th BYU player to hit 1,300 and ninth tight end.
