- Noah Hartsock scored a career-high 28 points on a career-best 11 made shots on 15 attempts. Hartsock scored 15 points on 6 of 7 shooting while the rest of the team went 5 of 24. He scored 10 of 12 points to start the first half and 8 of the first 10 in the second half. The senior also had 5 rebounds and 2 assists.
- Brandon Davies scored 14 points and just missed out on another double-double with 9 rebounds. He also had 2 assists and 2 blocks.
- Charles Abouo scored 10 points and had 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

- Despite a 5 of 7 shooting second-half start, BYU continued to miss shots, finishing the half 12 of 29 and 23 of 60 for the game for 38.3 percent.
- Only Carlino and Zylstra made a 3-pointer and the team went 2 of 25 from behind the arc. It is the lowest percentage from the 3-point line for the season.
Game Trends
- Hartsock scored the first basket of the game on a turnaround layup after BYU missed its first three shots. Hartsock would go on to score 10 of BYU’s first 12 points with the Cougars leading 12-8 and 12:13 remaining in the first half.
- LMU went on an 8-0 run and took a 23-17 lead at the 7:17 mark but BYU answered back with a 6-0 run later on to tie the score at 25-25 with 5:11 left until halftime.
- BYU failed to make a 3-point basket in the first half, going 0 of 12 from behind the arc. LMU took a 34-28 lead into the locker room.
- Zylstra finally hit BYU’s first 3-pointer of the game with 15:42 left in the second half. The shot cut LMU’s lead to 46-41.
- BYU cut the lead down to just two points several times down the stretch but couldn’t find the basket when it needed to all night and surrendered a 10-0 run in the final minutes and LMU took home a 82-68 win.

“Loyola played a great game against us. I thought they defended us really well, contested almost every pass and every shot. They, defensively, had a really good game plan and made it really hard for us to get the ball in the post. In the post they didn’t bring over a second or third defender, which is something we haven’t seen in the last few games, and they stayed on our shooters. Our guys fought through it and had a chance in the second half, with cutting it to four, but it seemed like every time we had a run or a chance they made a big play. They deserved to win. Congratulations to their staff and game plan.”

“We didn’t get a lot of good ones. We got some good ones that we just missed but, for the most part, they contested every shot and we were impatient. I think we looked too quick instead of reversing the ball to the other side. We need to shoot better than that to win but, in hindsight, there are other ways you can get a win and we didn’t do those tonight either.”
