LONDON -- Two current swimmers competed for their respective countries at the Olympic Games in London.

Andrew Rutherfurd, who is representing Bolivia, swam in the 100-meter freestyle. Rafael Alfaro, who is representing his native country of El Salvador, swam in the 400-meter IM.

Rutherfurd finished fifth in his heat with a personal-best time of 52.57 and also set a Bolivian national record.  Alfaro finished his heat with a time of 4:35.80.

"What an honor it is for them to represent their countries at the Olympics," head coach John Brooks said. "It was great to see them participate in the Opening Ceremonies and to race against the best swimmers in the world."

Rutherfurd and Alfaro will stay in London until the end of the Olympics and will return to Provo to prepare for the upcoming season.
