No. 3 BYU hits the road for matches at UC San Diego

PROVO, Utah – No. 3 BYU men’s volleyball hits the road this week for matches at UC San Diego.

Last Time Out

The Cougars (17-3, 13-3 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) split a pair of home matches with No. 8 Pepperdine. BYU swept the Waves the first night before falling in four sets in the rematch. Jake Langlois contributed 36 kills over the weekend, including a career-high 24 in the setback on Saturday.

UC San Diego

  • The Cougars will face off against the Tritons (5-17, 0-16 MPSF) both Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. PDT.
  • UC San Diego won its only match of the week last week at Concordia-Irvine. The Tritons have struggled in conference play though, getting swept by every opponent except for Pepperdine and UC Irvine.
  • BYU holds a perfect 38-0 record against UC San Diego, including an 18-0 record when playing at the RIMAC Arena.
  • The Tritons currently sit in 12th place in the conference standings – the same spot they were picked to finish in the preseason coaches’ poll.
