LEXINGTON, Ky. — BYU men’s volleyball has been voted No. 1 in this week’s NVA/ AVCA coaches poll, marking the fifth week in a row the Cougars have been named to the top of the rankings.
BYU (5-1) received 13 out of 16 first-place votes with Hawaii receiving the other three. This week's top five includes Hawaii (1-0) at No. 2, Lewis (8-1) and UCSB (0-0) tied for No. 3 and Pepperdine (4-2) at No. 5. No teams dropped out of the top 15.
This week, BYU will continue the second half of a four-game series with Grand Canyon, playing the next two matches in Phoenix. The GCU ‘Lopes moved up to No. 9 in the poll despite dropping two matches to BYU on Feb. 18 and 20.
As of 2/21/21 all Division I/II men’s volleyball conferences have begun play.
