BYU tops Snow College in first fall game

PROVO, Utah – In its first scrimmage of the fall season, BYU softball faced off against Snow College, defeating the Badgers 22-2 on Thursday night at Gail Miller Field. 

The teams agreed to play 10 innings in order to get different players on the field for extended amounts of time.

The Cougars scored eight unanswered runs through six innings to establish a solid lead. After Snow got two across the plate in the seventh, BYU rattled off 10 more runs in the next four innings to reach the final score of 22-2.

BYU’s bats came alive in the game, smacking eight home runs over the fence. Caitlyn Larsen Alldredge led the offensive output with seven RBI, four coming from two home runs. Briielle Breland and Allie Hancock chipped in three RBI each, along with two home runs and one home run, respectively.

The pitching staff spread out the playing time with four different pitchers throwing from the circle. McKenna Bull and Arianna Paulson pitched three innings each and Arissa Paulson and Kerisa Viramontes threw two innings apiece.

Fall ball continues next Friday with the Cougars hosting the Utah Valley Wolverines at 6 p.m. MDT in Provo. The game is free to the public.
