WCC honors Lee-Hansen, Frentheway on All-Academic Team

SAN MATEO, Calif. — The West Coast Conference honored BYU’s McKenna Lee-Hansen and Aubrey Frentheway when it released its 2022 Women’s Cross Country All-Academic First Team on Dec. 13.

Lee-Hansen is now a three-time WCC All-Academic recipient along with an honorable mention selection in 2019. A senior from North Ogden, Utah majoring in strategic management, Lee-Hansen boasts a 3.98 GPA in BYU’s prestigious Marriott School of Business.  

The former Weber High School harrier is a three-time All-WCC First Team honoree after a Cougar running career that included appearances in 18 meets, six of which came in either WCC or national title races.

Frentheway notched her fourth-career conference all-academic selection in 2022. A senior from Cheyenne, Wyoming, Frentheway maintained a 3.58 GPA as a mathematics education major in BYU’s McKay School of Education.  Success in the classroom correlated with success on the course for Frentheway this season. The Cheyenne Central High School product concluded her BYU cross country career in 2022 with a third-career All-American honor, fourth-career All-WCC finish and her first league individual championship.

Sadie Sargent, a senior from Coalville, Utah, was awarded a WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention citation. A psychology major, Sargent also garnered All-WCC Second Team with a 12th-place finish at the conference title meet on Oct. 28.
