Keith tied for 10th, team in eighth after two rounds

WAHIAWA, Hawaii – The BYU women’s golf team stands in eighth place at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational after two rounds of play at the Leilehua Golf Course on Monday.

The Cougars shot an opening round 304 (+16) and a second round 314 (+26). Senior Amanda Keith led the Cougars with two solid rounds, tallying five birdies on the day. Keith shot a one-under-par 71 in the first round, followed by a 78 (+6) in the second round.

Finishing the day at five-over-par, Keith currently stands tied for tenth place in the individual standings, five strokes back of first place Kristen Rue of Washington State.

Junior Annika Kahaiali’i shot an opening round 76 (+4) and second round 79 (+7) to tie for 35th in the individual standings.

Junior Selu Fotu added five birdies on the day and completed the first two rounds at 14-over-par, while sophomore Lauren Atkinson and freshman Lea Garner both finished at 16-over-par.

Florida International and Toledo are tied for first place at 19-over-par heading into the final day of the tournament.
