PROVO -- After a triangular meet victory last week, the BYU gymnastics team will travel Friday to face No. 8 Oregon State with high hopes for a solid performance.

"I am looking forward to the meet and what our girls can do," said BYU head coach Brad Cattermole.

Last week's season-high scores on floor (49.075) and vault (48.750) bolstered the No. 32 BYU women's gymnastics team to a 193.725 excursion, beating Utah State and New Hampshire.

Six Cougars saw season-best marks in at least one event, three of which were career-high postings. Senior Dayna Smart-Allen claimed the individual title on vault, but senior Alethea Boon's 9.875 on floor was the highest individual Cougar score of the evening, a career-best.

"I was fairly happy with the meet at Utah State," Cattermole said. "We had a rocky start, but we finished strong. We are just looking to improve once again."

Friday's meet will be the only time BYU competes against Oregon State this season. The Beavers are 7-1 and average 195.687 in competition. The Cougars are now 3-5 and average 193.050 team score.

The meet will start at 7 p.m. Pacific Time. Those wishing to follow the competition can do so via Live Stats found at http://www.byucougars.com/Schedule.jsp?SP=152&YR=2007.
