WCC Player of the Week

SAN MATEO, Calif. – BYU women’s soccer senior forward Cameron Tucker has been named the West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Tucker has continued to play a significant role for BYU, as she is now on a four game goal scoring streak, scoring in every game for the Cougars extending back to the March 24 win at San Diego. She has also added three assists in those four games.

Against Santa Clara on Wednesday, Tucker scored the game-winning goal to give BYU its first victory ever at Santa Clara. In the 57th minute, Brecken Mozingo sprung Tucker between two defenders with a quick one-touch pass. The goalkeeper came out to challenge, and Tucker snuck the ball under the outstretched arms of the keeper and into the back of the net.

On Saturday, Tucker scored a late goal against Saint Mary's to preserve a tie for the Cougars. The senior scored in the 86th minute to force overtime and was the only Cougar to score in the match.

The Highland, Utah native now has seven goals and six assists on the season.

Tucker last received the weekly honor on Feb. 9, following her hat-trick against rival Utah. She was also named the National Player of the Week from TopDrawerSoccer that same week. Throughout her career, Tucker has been awarded three WCC Player of the Week honors.
