Soccer Comes Home

PROVO -- The No. 19 BYU women's soccer team will play its first regular-season home game Tuesday at 7 p.m. at South Stadium against the No. 23 Long Beach State 49ers.

Powered by an aggressive offense and a stingy defense, BYU is atop the Mountain West Conference standings with a 2-0-1 record and has not allowed a goal all season. The last time BYU allowed zero goals in its first three games occurred in 2003 when the team did not allow a goal until its fifth game of the season.

Cougar fans shattered the attendance almost one year ago to the day on Sept. 8, 2006 when 4,742 fans came to cheer BYU to a thrilling 3-2 victory over No. 21 Colorado. The crowd was the second largest for a women's athletic event in Cougar history. BYU finished with an average of 2,070 fans per game to finish third in the nation in that cat egory and are looking forward to equaled and better crowd support this season.

Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for students without an All-Sport Pass. Students with an All-Sport Pass get in free. BYU "Y" lot parking will be available to the public after 4 p.m.
