PROVO -- The BYU women's tennis team went undefeated again in singles play as the second day of the BYU Invitational comes to a close.
As every singles player on the Cougar squad pulled in a win, the three doubles teams struggled with only one team coming off with a win. Rebecca Pike and Lauren Jones defeated Nelly Dvornicka and Zorana Roganovic of Washington State 8-1.
BYU's Hadley McFarlane and Nicole Schneider fought hard only to fall 8-5 against Zsofia Fodor and Nora Gaal of Washington State. Senior Barbora Zahnova and freshman Sofia Holden were defeated by the duo from Boise State, Jemima Haywood and Erin Polowski, 8-2.
Coach Manning is impressed as this young team continues to prove their strength early in the season.
"It's a real blessing to have such talented players," Manning said. "They are all working so hard and getting some great experience from this tournament. The other teams have incredible players, and I am so pleased to see our girls do so well. This is a real accomplishment."
The singles final draws for all seven divisions will begin Friday at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
