PROVO, Utah (September, 25, 2004)--The final day of the Cougar Invitational brought tough matches and valuable learning experiences for the BYU's women's tennis team. Overall, the team played well as two of the Cougars picked up victories in their individual flight championships.

In her final Cougar Invitational, lone senior Rebecca Pike showed why she leads this team as she overwhelmed New Mexico's Jennifer Ryba in two sets 7-5,6-3 in her flight championship. Newcomer Dolly Chang continues to impress by also winning her flight final beating Lucy Scott from New Mexico in a tough match 3-6;6-3;6-3.

In the consolation rounds, sophomore Lauren Jones beat Colorado State's Dasha Zhurin 6-3,3-0(ret), Sofia Holden beat Barbara Kourim from Denver 6-1;7-5 and Hanni Wittenbecher defeated Utah State's Erin Manning 6-2;6-2.

The Cougars now prepare for the Boise State Invitational October 7th.
