PROVO -- BYU fans will have the opportunity to win a chance to play in the halftime flag football game with former BYU greats, including Jamal Willis, Brandon Doman and Luke Staley. The flag-football contest will be held during halftime of the 32nd Annual Blue-White Game on Saturday, April 9.

"The Legends' Flag Football Game will be just one of the many highlights of this fan-friendly event," marketing director Tony Jewkes said. "If you're a BYU football fan, we invite you to come, have fun, relive great memories and take a peak into the future of the program. With free admission for this fun event, everyone should bring their families and neighbors and make a night out of it."

The "Legend for a Day" contest is open to anyone over the age of 18. One winner will be selected from the general public, along with one winner selected from the BYU student body.

Fans interested in participating in the contest can click on the "Legend for a Day" icon at www.byucougars.com to download the official registration form. All forms must be submitted at Legends Grille, or received by mail, by Wednesday, April 6 at 5 p.m.

As part of the registration process, applicants will be required to write a short essay (100 words or less), explaining why he or she should be selected to participate in the Legends' Flag Football Game. There is no fee for entering or participating in the contest. Admission to the Blue-White game is free.

Fans selected to play in the Legends' Flag Football Game will receive an official game jersey, sideline access throughout the event, including the Blue-White game, dinner for two at Legends Grille and photo opportunities with BYU legends. The selected BYU student will also receive a 2005-06 Student All-sport Pass.

In addition to the Legend's game, the Blue-White game will feature several fan-oriented activities under the south stands, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Grade-school youth between the ages of 5 and 12 will be able to participate in a free football clinic at Edwards Stadium, beginning at 4 p.m. Members of the BYU football team will be on hand to teach basic fundamentals to the youngsters.

Jewkes said he expects over 20,000 to attend this year's game. All seats at the stadium will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis for the spring game.

Fans will also have the opportunity to renew their season tickets during the event, as well as place new orders for season tickets. The season-ticket renewal period begins April 1 through May 2. To renew or place an order for season tickets, fans may contact the BYU Ticket Office at (801) 422-BYU1 after April 1.
