PROVO -- BYU senior forward Keena Young picked up another honor this week, receiving All-America honorable mention from The Associated Press.

"I'm proud of Keena for all he accomplished as a leader on our team this season," BYU coach Dave Rose said. "He had a great season and is very deserving of the many honors he has received this year."

A 6-foot-6 native of Beaumont, Texas, Young led the Cougars in scoring (17.4) and rebounding (6.6) in 2006-07 to help BYU achieve a 25-9 record and the program's first national top-25 ranking since 1993. Young previously earned all-district recognition from the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the United States Basketball Writers Association and was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year after leading BYU to the outright MWC regular-season title with a 13-3 record.

Young is the first Cougar since Rafael Araujo (2004) and Mekeli Wesley (2001) to receive AP All-America honorable mention recognition. BYU's Trent Plaisted received Scout.com Freshman All-America Second Team accolades last season, and Araujo was also a Basketball Times Second Team selection in 2004.
