Colorado Springs, Colo. (March 3, 2004) -- Senior Barbora Zahnova, a transfer from Virginia Common Wealth, earned her first MWC honors as she was named the Athlete of the Week.
Zahnova, a Trnava, Slovakia, product, posted a straight set singles win at the No. 1 position and a No. 1 doubles win over in-state conference rival No. 75 Utah. Along with Hadley Macfarlane, Zahnova opened the match beating Sheri Esrock and Cinthia Saucedo, 8-4. She then went on to notch a victory over Sheri Esrock, 6-1, 6-1, as the Cougars were victorious in the first conference match of the season, 7-0.
