PROVO, Utah -- Along with being one of ten golfers named to the Mountain West All-Conference Team, Zac Blair earned an individual spot in the NCAA Arizona Regional to be played May 19-21 in Tucson.

"Zac is exceptional and each year he continues to improve," said BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank. "He knows what he is doing and he is very savvy when it comes to hitting different kinds of shots."

The Arizona Regional, Blair's second-career regional tournament, is one of six, 54-hole regional tournaments and includes 14 teams and five individual participants. The low five teams and the low individuals not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals May 31-June 5 at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Okla.

"Advancing to the national championships as an individual is a difficult thing to do, but I think his (Blair) chances are great," Brockbank said. "When he gets going and starts making putts, he is tough to beat."

Blair, whose stroke average was tops in the MWC, captured eight top-25 finishes during the 2010-11 season, including two top-5 finishes. His All-MWC selection is the first of his career.

Blair's best performance came at the PING Cougar Classic where he overcame a five-stroke deficit in the final round to shoot a 7-under 65 and claim his first-career individual title.
