BYU head coach Dave Rose
“It was just a great game. Great atmosphere. The crowd was very vocal. I’m really proud of our guys. Our effort was maybe better than it’s been all season thus far.

“It was nice to get Tyler healthy again. When he’s healthy, it really makes a difference. Brandon brought tons of energy. I’ve seen it in practice and it extended into the game. It’s a great thing we got this first win, because we’ve won a postseason game the last four years. It’s a great thing for the program.”

“There was a lot of emotion on the court. It was just fun to play out there. We had a tough week of practice. It was more oriented on just playing all out and whatever happens out there happens. The pressure is more on the other team. We have really nothing to lose, playing at home. We’ve got to play hard.”

“I just kept doing the same things I was doing in the first half. I felt like I hit a few shots that went in and out in the first half. I just tried to keep playing on attack and keep my aggression level up. We had a really good week of practice and our guys came out ready to play tonight. We want to keep playing basketball. I’m just happy with the win tonight.”

Washington head coach Lorenzo Romar
“We played against a team that was very good in transition. Tyler Haws is an exceptional basketball player. I thought we did a decent job in the first half of not giving them too much in transition."

"In the second half, a couple times down the floor, we shot the ball too quickly, which was something we talked about prior to the game of what not to do. They were able to capitalize off our quick misses. Being the team that they are, they took advantage of it. I thought Matt Carlino’s 18 points in the second half may have been the difference.”
