BYU Women's Golf releases 2023-24 schedule

BYU women’s golf announced the schedule for the program’s inaugural season as members of the Big 12 Conference on Tuesday afternoon.

PROVO, Utah – BYU women’s golf announced the schedule for the program’s inaugural season as members of the Big 12 Conference on Tuesday afternoon.

After three key members of last year’s squad graduated, head coach Carrie Roberts got to work to secure two transfers, Lily McCauley from Washington State and Whitney Banz from Westminister. Roberts also added two incoming freshmen, MJ Barragan and Lilly Denunzio who will join returners Lila Galeai, Adeline Anderson, Alexa Udom, Berlin Long and Sunbin Seo

“I’m very excited for this upcoming year,” said Roberts, entering her 14th year as head coach. “We have some new players who we expect to do great things for us. We are excited to compete and see what we can do in the Big 12.”

The Cougars will play in ten events as they gear up for the Big 12 Championship. NCAA Regionals, and NCAA Championship.

BYU will begin its season in Corinth, Texas, to play at the Sam Golden Invitational, hosted by North Texas University at Oakmont Country Club on Sept. 10-12.

The Cougars will visit the Pacific Northwest on Sept. 17-19 to compete in the Leadership and Golf Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington and Seattle University at Chambers Bay. BYU will then tee it up at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational on Oct. 2-3 at Lawrence Country Club in Lawrence, Kansas.

After two weeks off, BYU will finish its fall campaign in Miami at the Hurricane Invitational on Oct. 30-31.

Following a three-month hiatus, the Cougars will be back in action beginning at the FAU Paradise Invitational at Osprey Point Golf Course on Feb. 5-6.

The west-coast stint then kicks off with a trip to Sacramento, California, on Feb. 26-27 to participate in the Causeway Invitational hosted by UC Davis. On Mar. 3-4, BYU will join the University of San Francisco and San Jose State at Del Paso Country Club for the Juli Inkster Meadow Club Intercollegiate. The Fresno State Classic at Copper River Country Club on Mar. 25-26 will wrap up the Cougar’s California trips.

BYU will then tee it up at the Texas Showdown, hosted by SMU and Baylor, on Apr. 8-9 at Dallas Athletic Club. Two weeks later, the Cougars will return to Texas to compete in the Big 12 Women’s Championship at Houston Oaks Country Club.

The NCAA Regionals are slated for May 13-14 before the NCAA Championships on May 17-22 at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California.
