LUBBOCK, Texas. — No. 46 BYU women's tennis fell to No. 28 Texas Tech 5-2, completing a three-match road stretch. The Cougars dropped to 12-4 overall and 4-3 in conference play.
Senior Emilee Astle notched the first singles victory for BYU, defeating Arina Oreshchenkova and improving her record to 8-1 for the season.
Sophomore Tina Li secured the Cougars' second and final singles win by beating Mariya Polishchuk, boosting her record to 10-5 in 2024.

After Texas Tech extended its lead to 2-0 with a victory for Sherif, Astle's win brought BYU within one. However, the Lady Raiders secured the next three matches to clinch the victory before Li added a final point for the Cougars, making the final score 5-2.
BYU will return home to face No. 30 Baylor next Thursday, with the match set to begin at 1 p.m. MDT.
