LEXINGTON, Ky. — BYU women’s volleyball came in at No. 16 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/Taraflex preseason poll, the organization announced on Monday morning.
Coming off a 25-7 (13-5 Big 12) season with a NCAA Tournament hosting bid and Second Round finish in 2023, the Cougars look to build upon their first year in the Big 12 with continued success in 2024.
BYU’s 2024 slate features five ranked opponents, including three in conference play, with No. 10 Oregon, No. 13 Kansas, No. 14 Georgia Tech, No. 17 Arizona State and No. 23 Baylor.
Beginning last season at No. 17, the Cougars were ranked as high as No. 8 in the nation before finishing the year at No. 18.
BYU has both begun and ended each of BYU head coach Heather Olmstead’s eight seasons ranked in the top-18. It has also now been ranked in the AVCA Top 25 for 159-consecutive polls. View the full AVCA poll at the organization's website.
