LOS ANGELES, Calif. — After winning each of their doubles matches and advancing to the finals of ITA Sectionals, BYU women's tennis athletes Bobo Huang and Kendall Kovick automatically qualified for the NCAA Division I Individual Championships in mid-November.

The pair's qualification will mark BYU's first appearance in the NCAA Division I Individual Championships since 2001.

"I am thrilled for Kendall and Bobo," said head coach Holly Hasler. "The regional tournament was a little disappointing and they bounced back and brought huge energy to the ITA Sectionals. Qualifying for the NCAA Championships is a dream for any student-athlete, and I'm excited for the opportunity this presents."

Huang lost in the first round of the main singles bracket, but she won her first consolation match. Huang and Kovick also won all three of their doubles matches and forfeited the finals due to Sunday non-play.
