SAN DEIGO, California — BYU men’s golf finished 10th at the Lamkin Invitational at San Diego Country Club after shooting 2-under-par with rounds of 288-289-285–862.

"There is definitely some frustration for our players and coaches after two poor finishes," BYU director of golf Todd Miller said. "We made 60 birdies and one eagle this week and shot 2-under as a team. That tells us we are hitting way too many loose shots and that our short game needs some work. We have a busy schedule at the end of March. We need to get things turned around as we prepare for the postseason."

Junior Zac Jones secured another top-25 finish, finishing in a tie for 19th at 3-under with rounds of 71-70-72–213. Keanu Akina (73-73-68–214) vaulted 28 spots up the leaderboard to finish in a tie for 23rd at 2-under par after carding seven birdies en route to a final-round 68.

Max Brenchley (T-42, 71-75-71–217; +1), Cooper Jones (T-62, 73-74-74–221; +5) and Peter Kim (T-75, 77-72-75–224; +8) rounded out the scoring for the Cougar squad.

BYU will tee it up next at the Pauma Valley Invitational on March 18-19 in California.
