Women's Recap

Passmore headlined the horizontal jumps for the Cougars winning both the triple and long with indoor personal bests. The junior from Clovis, California leaped 12.10-meters/39-8.5 in the triple jump and 5.86m/19-2.75 in the long jump.

“Going into this week, my body felt really good and I could feel myself getting really excited,” said Passmore. “So I focused on channeling the nerves into excitement so I could stay relaxed, but also so that I could still be aggressive down the runway. I’ve still got some technique to work on, but the aggression on the approach and throughout the jumps seems to be working for me.”

Gretchen Hoekstre won both the shot put and the discus on day one of competition. The senior threw 15.66m/51-4.5 in the shot put and 50.00m/164-0.5 in the discus.  Freshman Kat Beachler placed second in the the shot put with a personal best throw of 14.02m/46-0.
