PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s tennis returns to Provo for back-to-back matches on Friday and Saturday. The Cougars face No. 70 Denver at 5 p.m. MST on Friday and the Air Force Academy on Saturday at 12 p.m.
BYU Notes
- The Cougars have only played two of their 10 matches at home this year. They remain unbeaten in those two contests, beating Weber State 6-1 and Idaho State 6-1.
- BYU is on a seven-match win streak. The Cougars are chasing their best winning streak from last season, at 10 matches.
- At 9-1, the Cougars are off to their start through 10 matches since the 2017-18 season.
Denver Notes
- Head coach Drew Eberly leads the Pioneers in his fourth season. He is assisted by Will Davies in his third year.
- Denver is 8-5 on its season. In the most recent ranking on Feb. 25, it earned No. 70 nationally. Recently, the Pioneers picked up a ranked win at home against No. 65.
- In the Pioneers' most recent match, they beat Jacksonville State 5-2 at home.
Air Force Notes
- Head coach and BYU alum Evan Urbina leads the Falcons in his 11th season with the team and second as the head coach. Urbina started his coaching career in Orem while studying at BYU and has also coached the Cougars’ women’s team. He is assisted by Nick Castro in his second year on the staff.
- Air Force has a 6-5 record on its season through its first 11 matches. The Falcons' most recent match was a win against Jacksonville State at home, 5-2.
- Air Force is 0-3 in away matches this season
