PROVO, Utah — No. 6 BYU is set to face Harvard for the first time in NCAA men's volleyball history, with matchups on Saturday, Mar. 15 and Monday, Mar. 17.
COUGARS (12-6)
BYU fell in back-to-back matches against the No. 5 USC Trojans last weekend, dropping a five-set and three-set match. Senior outside hitter Keoni Thiim led with 34 kills and seven aces while freshman middle blocker Niko Hales led with 11 total blocks over the weekend.
The Cougars remained at No. 6 in Week 9 of the 2025 AVCA National Collegiate MVB Poll. Overall, BYU has been ranked in the top-10 since February 6, 2023 for a total of 38 consecutive weeks in a row and is 6-2 from its last eight matches.
THE CRIMSON (6-7)
Harvard is coming off an even split against the University of Charleston, defeating the Golden Eagles in five-sets on March 8 and subsequently falling in four sets on March 9. Harvard has had three matches postponed and two matches canceled this season, playing in five less matches than BYU has so far this season.
Harvard's matches at BYU will mark its fifth and sixth against a nationally ranked opponent this season. The Crimson opened their season at No. 4 Hawai'i and lost both matches, but pushed the Rainbow Warriors to five sets in the second contest.
