Men's Preview
Fresh off a 1,500-meter personal best last weekend, James Corrigan will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for a second time this outdoor season. The 2024 Olympian opened his outdoor campaign with a win at the Willie Williams Classic in 8:43.57.
Isaac Hedengren finished behind Corrigan in the season opener but owns the fastest time on the team and 12th fastest in the country with his 8:32.86 at the Stanford Invitational earlier this month. Landon Heemeyer ranks 15th in the nation in the event with his 8:34.51 coming on the same track he will compete on Friday evening. Caleb Johnson and Jefferson McMullin will also compete in the steeplechase.
Mark Boyle and Brayden Packard are also slated to compete in the 1,500-meters.
The Cougars will be represented by the sprints, hurdles, jumps and throws squads in Logan.
Women's Preview
Fresh off a program-record performance in the 5000m, Lexy Halladay-Lowry is set to open her 2025 outdoor steeplechase season at the Payton Jordan Invitational. The All-American enters with a personal best of 9:22.77—BYU’s No. 2 all-time mark—set at the 2024 USATF Olympic Trials.
Jenna Hutchins, the newly crowned 10,000m school record-holder, will test her speed over 1500 meters in Stanford. The junior will be joined by teammate Carlee Hansen, who recently clocked a lifetime best of 4:12.42 at the Bryan Clay Invitational, moving to No. 7 on BYU’s all-time list.
Riley Chamberlain, anchor of BYU’s national championship distance medley relay team, is entered in both the 800m and 1500m. Chamberlain comes off a standout 5000m performance at Bryan Clay, where she recorded the fifth-fastest time in program history at 15:23.88.
