BYU (23-10, 7-5 Big 12) went 2-2 last week, dropping a midweek game to Utah Valley on Tuesday before winning its conference series at Iowa State with a decisive 13-0 victory over the Cyclones in five innings on Saturday.

The Cougars fell in game one at Iowa State, 5-3, before picking up a 9-5 win in game two to even the series at one game apiece. BYU's bats exploded for a nine-run fifth inning in the rubber match, leaving Ames with a series victory thanks to a run-rule win.

Moving up into a tie for third with Iowa State in the Big 12 standings, the Cougars now own the tiebreaker with the Cyclones. Three games back from top-15 Arizona, BYU has positioned itself atop the middle of the conference, and can solidify that spot further during its series against UCF later this week.

Lily Owens led the Cougars on the week and in the Iowa State series, hitting .571 on the week and .600 in Ames. She was followed closely by Ilove'a Brittingham, who hit .538 in BYU's four games last week and .556 against the Cyclones, including a 1.556 slugging percentage in Ames.

Aleia Agbayani (.375), Hailey Morrow (.308) and Lindy Milkowski (.300) joined the duo with .300+ batting averages on the week, while Agbayani (.400), Milkowski (.375) and Keila Kamoku (.300) did the same at Iowa State.

Jada Villegas led the Cougars with a 0.00 ERA on the week. The freshman southpaw tossed 6.1 innings across two appearances, going 1-0 with four hits, zero earned runs, a walk and six strikeouts.

Kate Dahle went 1-1 in Ames, posting a 2.62 ERA with one complete game. She recorded eight innings of work, giving up seven hits, three earned runs, four walks and nine strikeouts.

Reaching the 50 home run mark over the weekend, BYU averages 1.52 long balls per game, which ranks No. 13 nationally and leads the Big 12. The Cougars are also No. 17 in double plays per game (0.52), No. 24 in total double plays (17) and No. 24 in total home runs, where they are also second in the league in.

With a three-home run and nine-RBI week, Brittingham now finds herself in the top 15 of four national statistics: RBI per game (No. 2, 1.58), home runs per game (No. 10, 0.42), RBI (No. 12, 52) and home runs (No. 17, 14). She leads the conference in batting average, home runs, home runs per game, RBI, RBI per game and total bases.

Set to face Utah Tech for the second of two meetings this season, BYU also readies for game one of eight-consecutive contests at home.
