LAWRENCE, Kansas - Taylor Lovell, Lizzie Dildine, Nelah Roberts and Raygan Peterson combined for 20 points in the women’s 3000-meter steeplechase, leading the BYU women to the top of the Big 12 team standings with 49.5 points after day two at Rock Chalk Park.
Lovell led the way in the 3000m steeplechase with a second-place finish in 9:49.54, while Dildine took fourth in 10:09.59. Freshman Nelah Roberts earned a personal best of 10:10.31 for fifth, just ahead of Raygan Peterson, who crossed in 10:10.38 for sixth.
"It was a great effort by our women’s steeple crew tonight," said associate director of track and field DIljeet Taylor. "They all came up huge and fed off of each other with effort, energy and delivery."
Gretchen Hoekstre threw a lifetime best of 17.46m/57-3.5 in the shot put, improving her No. 2 mark in BYU history and placing second overall in the event. The senior from Seaside, Oregon added eight points to the Cougars’ team total.
In the pole vault, Rebekah Erikson added six points for BYU with a third-place finish, clearing 4.31m/14-1.75 – just one centimeter shy of her own school record set at the 2025 BYU Robison Invitational. Maren Garnett tied for fourth, earning 4.5 points with a clearance of 4.21m/13-9.5.
Sami Oblad won her heat in the 400m, placing third overall with a time of 52.91 to advance to Saturday’s final. Emily Ellis-Dalley ran 54.58, finishing 11th, just outside the qualifying spots.
Tessa Buswell, Meghan Hunter and Riley Chamberlain each won their 800m heats to advance to Saturday’s final. Buswell ran 2:05.68 for sixth, Hunter posted 2:05.88 for seventh and Chamberlain clocked 2:06.80 for ninth.

Zoey Bonds finished 10th in the 100m hurdles running 13.69, just outside the qualifying window for Saturday’s final. Senior Lindsey Middleton placed 18th with a time of 14.08.
Cameron Bliss rounded out day two of the heptathlon with a 5.54m/18-2.25 mark in the long jump, a personal-best throw 36.54m/119-10 in the javelin and a 2:31.89 in the 800m. The junior from Cypress, Texas, placed 11th overall with a lifetime best score of 5,024 points.
